After a seemingly quicker than normal flight from Minneapolis into LaGuardia, Jolina and I then made it to the Sheraton in near record time. Monday begins what is the biggest SES show of the year: Search Engine Strategies New York. We’re both looking forward to this SES with great anticipation. Jolina blogged SMX West recently and will also be blogging the SES show.
We’ll be doing a mix of blogging sessions, taking photos and video interviews as well as participating in a few after conference events. Sessions I plan on attending Monday include:
Organic Listings Forum with Mike Grehan moderating and Jill Whalen, Dave Naylor and Greg Boser on the panel. Here we have an all star SEO cast available to answer questions about organic SEO. The audience will also have the opportunity to share their own tips and tools.
How to Build Investment Interest in Your SEO/SEM with an introduction by Anne Kennedy and a presentation by Patricia Hall, Investment Banker, Hallmark Capital. If you own and/or are running a fast growing SEO firm (I think I know one) and want to gain more insight into making your firm more valuable for acquisition/investment, then this session is for you. I remember a session on this topic at a SES several years ago and it was one of my favorites.
Web Analytics: Measuring Success with Yosi Heber moderating and yet another all star cast of experts on the panel including: Avinash Kaushik from Google, Jason Bishop, Sr from Omniture, Akin Arikan Unica and Lauren Vaccarello FXCM.
There’s an Orion Panel “Getting Vertical Search Right” at 3:45with Kevin Ryan, Rebecca Lieb, Bill Tancer, Jason R. Finger, Paul Forster, Steven Krein and Joshua Stylman followed by something at the end of the day called the “SES Awards 2008″ where categories will be announced. Should be very interesting.
Later in the week on Thursday I’ll be moderating the “Podcast and Audio Optimization” panel at 10am with Daron Babin and Amanda Watlington. Right after that at 11:15 I speak on a panel, “Beyond Linkbait: Getting Authoritative Online Mentions” with Sally Falkow from Expansion Plus and Chris Boggs from eMergent Marketing plus Sage Lewis moderating. This will be a great session and provide some great tips. My presentation will focus on the “Do’s and Don’ts” of Media Relations and Blogger Relations.
Then at 1pm on the same day I’m doing a teleseminar for Bulldog Reporter PR University “Easy SEO Strategies for PR: How PR Can Leverage Search and RSS to Reach Millions” with Sally Falkow, Paolina Milana from Marketwire and Rohit Bhargava from Ogilvy PR. It will be a busy day and a great way to wind up the conference.
Be sure to “stay tuned” as TopRank provides daily session coverage, interviews, SES New York photos and SEO videos. The pioneer of Search Marketing Conference Blogging, Barry Schwartz and his crew at Search Engine Roundtable will also be covering the event.
